I don’t usually sit here and write something worth reading for the video’s, let’s be honest here, you just want to watch the flippin’ thing! But when something as production heavy as this, the second collaborations between Sofles, Selina Miles and Ironlak, is released, well… there’s just more to be said. Before you watch this one, I highly recommend checking out the first piece Infinite, one of the most skilfully shot and edited pieces of rap spraying I have ever seen. It”s funny how you can watch something, that is some what simple to put together and think: Damn! why didn’t I think of that?! Now that you’ve seen the first piece, head over to the bottom of this page and watch this one in full screen, your brain may melt, but it’s ok, it’s probably for the best. In all seriousness, this is a crazy good project by all involved, from Quench’s straight burners, Treas‘ style points, Fintan Magee‘s super scaled vandals, Sofles’ limitlessness [painting a piece that has to tip the 100m mark] and Selina Miles’ perfection editing. There are so many highlights throughout this, some of my favourites are: the upside down Sofles, The Abominable Flowman, extra large Quench adding a quadruple key line, Fintan Magee lining up, the Nekst tribute, the endless chuck ups and the grand finale, just to name a handful. But the best thing about this piece is that it is what it says it is, limitless. This is the type of video that perfectly demonstrates the skill, dedication and scale that goes into painting graffiti, while being a very accessible to watch for those who may not understand what goes on to make those pretty pieces on the wall. You can watch a piece form and finish in the space of 5 seconds and while it does take considerably longer then that, it certainly showcases the lifestyle as an artform to those who may protest. It’s also proof of how Australia is one of the leaders in the global graffiti game, just look how cool we make things!
Big ups to DJ Butcher for the sounds also!
Congratulations again to Ironlak, Sofles, Selina Miles and all those involved in this amazing project, it really doesn’t get much better then this. Can’t wait for part 3….?
